Three-time best pet site award winner, was first launched in 2006 and has since become one of the world’s most celebrated pet sites.  It offers an abundance of Chihuahua information, facts, videos, news, contests, shopping and more.  It also features Chihuahuas from around the globe and an educational Chihuahua care book, written by Nadia herself.

The site has grown to over a million unique visitors per year, averaging anywhere from 2000 to 6500 visits a day.  The word mark “Famous Chihuahua®” is a registered trademark owned by Nadia Alterio as is the head logo concept.  The head logo was designed based on Nadia’s Chihuahua, Teaka, as she was the inspiration and motivation behind the site.

The site ranks high in search engines for key organic search terms related to the Chihuahua breed.  Several means of social media marketing have also been implemented to help make the brand a success.  The Famous Chihuahua Facebook page has near 400,000 fans and the Instagram page has a following of 30,000.

Famous Chihuahua® made international news in June of 2010 and was featured on ABC’s World News Tonight, which resulted in an overwhelming amount of site traffic.  The site has also made headlines featuring some of the the smallest dogs in the world (according to the Guinness World Book of Records) and is known for the universally celebrated, International Chihuahua Appreciation Day started by Nadia in 2011.

The Famous Chihuahua store offers a wide variety of designer chihuahua clothes and accessories, with Teaka spotlighted on the homepage.  Outfits worn in the movies and musical productions of Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Legally Blonde are sold exclusively at the store. Since it’s inception, the greatest reward that comes from Famous Chihuahua® is the joy and happiness people express after seeing their Chihuahua spotlighted.
